Q. What is the SafQual Methodology
The SafQual Methodology is a tool for companies to have a single document (a type of process manual) which contains the core processes of the company in a simple, easy to read document that covers both Safety & Quality. It ensures processes are simple, traceable, measurable, consistent and repeatable. It gives top management a tool to gauge all phases of operation and all vendors on an equal plane.
Q. How do we build your SAFQUAL?
Working with your team, we build a formalized manual that contains all of your company’s key elements, procedures, processes, authorities, responsibilities, job descriptions, local, state and federal requirements, organizational charts, company mission and vision statements, records, documents, that drive continual improvement. We also build the root cause evaluation process which drives warranty issues to elimination. SafQual naturally builds a defensible position against claims and defect litigation, based on our founder’s years as an expert witness in such cases.
Q. How can this assist in defending against claims and defect litigation?
Our founder is an expert witness on behalf of insurance companies and defending contractors. Knowing the types of questions asked and the answers that constitute poor workmanship and other troubling issues raised by attorneys, our SAFQUAL Methodology was developed. SafQual addresses all those issues well in advance by creating a closed-loop system which continually demonstrates due diligence, proper documentation paths, internal root cause analysis and vital record retention methods from a legal outcome standpoint. Thus the answers to questions which are raised are answered, documented and recorded for proof that a company’s normal method of operation is not one that is left up to chance. Formalizing the entire scope of work from inception to completion of the warranty in a single manual for Safety & Quality which is followed, monitored, measured, evaluated and audited on a continual basis. This is proof positive it is not a company’s way of doing business should an issue arise. It proves the issue is merely human error and a deviation from the normal practice of a company.
Q. How long does this all take?
Depending on the level of offering you choose, this varies from company to company.
Q. How much follow-up is needed from CSQS?
If a company has properly implemented our SAFQUAL, there is no need for follow-up with regard to our program.
However, if your company desires to use our Document Development, Management and Training services, these are ongoing for as long as you desire!
Q. What is our SAFQUAL Methodology based on?
We utilize combination of years of hands on experience in all trades, as a general contractor on home building, industrial, commercial, hospital and church projects. Along with this, we include a true combination of blending the best from safety and quality programs, ISO, OHSAS, Six Sigma, Lean Principles, TQM and other programs. Our founder then simplified all the requirements of ISO into an easy-to-use and apply, formalized process manual that is practical for the construction sector. Our SAFQUAL is certifiable to ISO 9001:2015 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, ISO 31000 Risk Management and OHSAS 18001. What makes our SAFQUAL so unique is we customize it to a company’s method of doing business and set up internal metrics so they can manage it on your own.
Q. How easy is it to manage CSQS’ SAFQUAL?
Remarkably, it is based on common sense and practicality. Our SAFQUAL is so thorough you basically follow the processes as outlined in the manual.
Q. What benefits can a company expect to receive from implementing CSQS’s SAFQUAL?
Elimination of warranty issues, pre-documentation against a claim, higher profits, reduction in cycle time, clearly defined job descriptions, reduction in call backs, elimination of redundancy of work, preventative measures, root cause analysis process, proper corrective/preventative action, continual improvement process, proper record keeping, organized documentation, delighted customers and elated employees.
Q. Are there other benefits a company can derive?
Yes. A company demonstrating due diligence will position themselves for insurance premium credits once our SAFQUAL has been implemented. CSQS has been working with the insurance companies and insurance brokers to bring lower rates or credits back to companies which demonstrate due diligence. As one insurance representative stated: “It’s a given a company will improve operation and warranty issues will disappear once implementation is complete. Lower rates or credits back are a no brainier once processes are formalized”. The process is so thorough it can become a training tool for new hires and is a great reference tool for current employees.
Q. Is CSQS a third party inspection company, too?
YES.
Q. Does a company have to be certified to ISO or OHSAS to receive consideration of lower insurance premiums?
No. A company merely has to implement our SAFQUAL and demonstrate due diligence.
Q. How many employee hours are needed to maintain and monitor CSQS’s SAFQUAL?
The more detailed the processes are defined, the smoother the implementation and maintenance is and less hours are needed. This is all based on the size of your company. The more employees or job sites you have, the more it should be monitored.
Q. What level of the company is required to be involved with CSQS’s SAFQUAL?
Every level. The time of involvement varies. Top management is key. In the beginning, top management is vital as they set the stage for the who – what – when – where – and how of what we are going to do. Top management then delegates authority to those they choose to be on the Process Improvement Team and the person who will be the director.
Q. What does the insurance sector see as value in CSQS’s SAFQUAL?
The value is the fact companies will now have a formal, single document that addresses all the requirements, procedures and processes of the entire operation. The insurance carriers now have a vehicle where they can monitor each company on an equal plane. What that now means is your company will now be evaluated on its own merits and not the results of every other company in your field.
Q. Why would an insurance carrier want to give a company lower rates or credits back for using CSQS’s SAFQUAL?
They will now have a way to evaluate all companies against a set, standard practice; one in which they can separate and measure companies against each other’s performance equally. This alone will give the insurance carrier the vehicle they have longed for in an effort to fairly evaluate all companies.
Q. How does a company begin?
One phone call is the beginning. CSQS will come and meet with your top management and lay out the best strategies and timelines to work with your company.
